Have you heard about the new book, "Maggie goes on a Diet"? (I think it's Maggie, may have the name wrong. Apparently the target audience is 6 to 11 year old GIRLS and it is about a girl of maybe 13 who is unhappy because she is too fat to fit into a prom dress so she goes on a diet and her life is transformed. Disgusting, really.

I've heard about the book--I decided not to say anything because I didn't want to bring it any more attention than it was already getting.

The sad thing was that it really didn't surprise me. It's disgusting, yes, but not really all that shocking.

About Me

My photo
I'm a science writer, a jewelry design artist, a bookworm, a complete geek, and mom to a wonderful kitty. I am also recovering from a decade-plus battle with anorexia nervosa. I believe that complete recovery is possible, and that the first step along that path is full nutrition.
