The article was good...

...but the byline was better.

Check it, kids: the Washington Post actually let me write for them. I convinced them to run a special article for Eating Disorders Awareness Week, on using Maudsley Family-Based Treatment.

Extreme Measures: A Girl's Suffering Drove Her Parents to Explore New Treatment

A special thank you to all those who let me interview them and shared their stories.

Hooray, Carrie! Great article, the media needs more reports about EDs from people that actually understand them. Terrific news, hopefully the attention this piece gets will lead to more opportunities for you!

Please allow me to re-phrase the title of this blog to read "The article is GREAT!" This is the best piece that I have read on eating disorders and effective treatment in a long time! Terrific way to kick off EDAP Week!

Carrie, I LOVE that you did this. This is a very well-written story and I am so happy that more people will learn about the Maudsley method through your article. I was treated with this method and sometimes wish I could shout from the rooftops how effective I think it is. Thank you so much for using your skills to do this.

Great article. It is so nice to have informative articles rather than the standard run of the mill types.

Great job Carrie. The residential treatment spas are gonna hate your story.

Sarah, you ought to share your story too in your own words. Hearing how passionate you feel, how positive your experience, will be the message that is conveyed. I got that from a tiny bit and I don't know you.

Keep writing Carrie! You are making a difference.

What a great article, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WRITING IT!

It should be required reading for all pediatricians, as well as school nurses and health teachers!

The article was excellent! I bought the entire rack of newspapers at Giant today (about ten of 'em, I can only imagine what the cashier was thinking).
