Testing...one two three...testing

I have my first exam tomorrow. In Immunology. At (Lord help me) 8:30 am.

I'm panicking, of course. I always do. I have a horrific case of test anxiety- very OCD-ish. I'm terrified if I don't know every last thing then I am doomed to failure. My compulsion is having to memorize things and triple check all the facts, etc.

It's a pain. Really, it is.

So that's where I am. Panicking. Obsessing. A joyful (ha!) ball of hormonal emotions, none of them pleasant.

Wish me luck. I'm going to need it. I don't know how much longer I can read about Activation Induced cytidine Deaminase or Terminal deoxyribonucelotidyl Transferase. Both of which randomly chop out DNA nucleotides in the genes for your antibodies and create vast amounts of diversity so that you can recognize most pathogens out there.

I need to create an OCD one of those.

And at about 6am tomorrow, do the sleep dance for me, backwards, so I wake up. I'm as worried about that part as anything else.

Tomorrow afternoon, however, it's me and my beads, baby. I need to make something. It's been too long.

I am sorry that I have not posted in a while but happened to log on due to not being able to sleep and see that you have a test in the am. I have all the faith in the world that you know your stuff. My hope is that you will get a good nights sleep and allow yourself to relax and take it easy, or as much as possible in the am to get yourself well nourished and in a grounded place to knock their socks off. I am cheering you on and looking forward to checking out the new beading too! I wish you well!

Hope,

Snorgles back at you!

Sam,

Thanks for the confidence (however misplaced). I'm just trying to remind myself that every writing job I've applied for, they've never looked at my grades.

Em,

Indeed I do ship to Australia. For a small extra fee, I'll hand deliver it! :)

DG,

Thanks. I'm gonna need it.

Good luck, Carrie. I'm not sure if you'd remember me, but I am ItWasReal (and wingedoblivion before that) on SF.

Tests can be so frustrating for everyone. Different people have their own rituals which help them most. By this I don't mean that you grab the cat by the tail and spin. : )
Hope you rest well tonight. /*****

I'm a science writer, a jewelry design artist, a bookworm, a complete geek, and mom to a wonderful kitty. I am also recovering from a decade-plus battle with anorexia nervosa. I believe that complete recovery is possible, and that the first step along that path is full nutrition.
