I was born, raised and live in NYC and I do agree, it is just too much stimulation and as a native, it gets worse as the year goes on. So many people trying to cram into a small space, ugh, its just much too much. I thank God that I live in an outerborough (Queens), but I am in Manhattan most of the time! My grad school is there and just like you said, alot of great opportunities are there as well (which is annoying). I used to love Manhattan during Christmastime because it was so festive, yet I feel like that was stripped from me with all the people and stimulation jam packed into everything.
